Area Rugs Roundup + My Favorites in our Home!

Colton’s parents recently moved to be closer to us and we are so excited to have them just a few miles away! My mother-in-law asked for my help decorating their new home and since I’m rounding up a bunch of home decor items for her, I thought I’d share them on my blog as well. First up — area rugs!

While looking for home decor inspiration online, I realized I haven’t actually shared many photos of our own home. One of my favorite ways to tie a room together is with an area rug. I’ve included a few of my favorite area rugs in our home below.

I love our bright and colorful playroom/office rug! I wanted a fun pop of color with all of the white and neutral furniture to keep it playful.

Scottie’s Big Girl Room Rug

We’ve had this pink diamond trellis rug since I decorated Scottie’s nursery in our old house three years ago (see here) and I still love it for her big girl room today!

I was a little nervous about ordering this ivory rug for our living room with a toddler and a dog but the reviews and price were great so I took a chance. Let me just say, I’m SO glad I did! We’ve had this rug for two years now and it still looks amazing. It hides dirt well and we get it cleaned once or twice per year to help keep it looking nice. Highly recommend!

I wanted something more neutral for Sawyer’s nursery since her room has quite a bit of color (see here) so I opted for this pink and cream area rug. I can’t get over how affordable it is because the quality is seriously amazing!

Our house has a mix of neutral rugs and rugs with color so I decided to break it up into those two categories. I included quite a few affordable neutral rugs (4 of them are under $200 for 5×7 or 5×8) and most of them come in several sizes!

While I love neutral rugs, looking at pretty colorful rugs is just so much fun! I have a lot of lighter colors in my home, so when picking out a colorful rug I like to find one that has lighter colors that will tie in with everything — see the photo of our office/playroom for example. I’d love to know which one is your favorite!
